I've been trying to find data on long historical climate trends. Would anyone know of any resources? I looked at weather.com and most of the trends are over 5 days or so. I need like historical trends from the 1900s to present.
This has been my problem when I need data on climate change as well. It seems no one's interested in funding a dedicated website for data on climate change that dates back to the earliest records we can ever find. You'd have to go to NASA's own office or on Switzerland's IPCC.
There is a mixed message out there right now. There is data but we have only been studying climate change heavily for the last 50 years or so. The earth, as far as I am concerned, is ever-changing just like science. We will need at least another 50 years to fully understand what is going on.
What I'm trying to do is correlate cold weather conditions to retail sales data. So I would need to find average temperature data for the major metropolitan areas.
