A book you should check out is Mostly Harmless Econometrics 

The book is a pretty easy read when compared to the other econometric textbooks.  

Also, if you were looking to later get help in writing a paper or reviewing some of your work there is the Econometric Society

Well you can start off by sharing to us exactly what you need to learn and we'll share our knowledge to you or resources where you can get some more information. Although it's about econometrics, it's still a broad field to it's really gonna be helpful if try to narrow it down further or ask us the questions that you want answers with. We'll help out the best we can.
